Every single day in Oklahoma County, a child is removed from their home due to neglect or abuse. The county holds an Emergency Custody Hearing (AKA Show Cause Hearing) where state agencies, lawyers, and a judge wrestle with the facts to determine where the child goes next.  It can be a confusing and scary time for a child.

Fortunately, one of our volunteer attorneys is there to represent the child at every single one of these hearings. As a child's case proceeds, our volunteer attorneys continue to defend the child until they reach an outcome that ensures their safety, health, and well-being.

Outside of the courtroom, we support Oklahoma County children in foster care or shelters by advocating for educational needs, hosting a free annual tennis clinic, and outdoor picnic.

We yearn for the day when no Oklahoma County child is abused or neglected. However, until that day, Oklahoma Lawyers for Children and our volunteers will fight for the well-being of our most precious citizens. Will you join us?
